WHAT IF I AM LATE TO MY HEADSHOT?  

Please arrive on time to ensure that you get the full session you pay for. Our appointments stack back to back so we are unable to offer additional time. If you are running more than fifteen minutes late for a 30 minute shoot, then you will likely want to call and reschedule for a $25 fee.  

 

WHERE DO I PARK?

My indoor space as a lot available. My outdoor locations all have ample street parking nearby.  

 

HOW MANY LOOKS COME WITH MY SESSION? 

Budget Headshots distinguishes itself from other headshot companies by offering time-based packages. We do not place a limit on the number of changes. That being said, most people purchasing the starving artist package bring between one and three looks.  

 

DO  YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR GROUPS OR REFERRALS? 

We do not offer any discounts as our prices are already the lowest in L.A. for the quality we offer. However, for every three clients you send us, we will retouch an additional photo for you the next time you book a session with us.  

 

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN RETOUCHING?

In retouching headshot photos, we address lighting, color balance, brightening/whitening of teeth, adding “pop” to eyes, reducing any distracting hair flyways, removing blemishes, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (let us know if you want them left in). Occasionally we get requests that are beyond the scope of traditional headshot retouching. We will contact you with a quote if you have any of these requests. 

 

THESE PHOTOS ARE SO GREAT! WHAT IF I WANT TO ORDER MORE? 

Each package comes with a certain number of retouched images. You can order additional photos immediately after your session, or at a later date. Prices are listed on the “Packages” page. 

 

SHOULD I ORDER HAIR AND MAKEUP?

It is very important that you can recreate the look in your headshot before you go into a casting. For this reason, we always encourage people to do their own hair and makeup.  However, if you feel that you need it, we have excellent hair and makeup artists available (view pricing on the “Packages” page). Please text or email us a selfie when you book the appointment so we can send it to the makeup artist.   

 

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY HEADSHOT?

If you are an actor and have an agent or manager, you should ask them this question. If you do not have an agent or manager, we suggest bringing at least one casual look and at least one professional look. If you believe that you have the ability to play much younger than your age, bring at least one youthful outfit (this is often a casual look).  Unless your manager suggests otherwise, avoid solid white and dizzying patterns.  Women should avoid spaghetti strap tank tops unless you want to look naked in the photos. 

 

WHAT SHOES SHOULD I WEAR? 

Unless your agent asks you to, there is no reason to take full body shots. Wear comfortable shoes, we won’t see them in the photo. 

 

HOW DO I GET THE PHOTOS? 

Within twenty-four hours of your session, you will get an email with a link that allows you to download all the photos from your session onto your computer or laptop (not onto a tablet or phone). These images will be web resolution (roughly the size of pictures in a Facebook album). Take however long you need to make your decisions. Once you send us your choices, we will retouch the photos and send them back to you within ten business days.  Please note photos are delivered digitally via internet- not through a CD or physical proof sheet. 

 

I NEED THE PHOTOS FOR A LAST-MINUTE AUDITION, CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE THIS? 

Yes. As long as there are openings in our schedule we can accommodate last minute requests. We send the proofs from our shoot right after the session. You are welcomed to use the proofs for the audition you have that day. However, if you need your images retouched right away there is a $100 rush fee charge. This is standard practice.  

 

WHERE CAN I GET THESE IMAGES PRINTED? 

Two business I recommend are Henry’s Printing (in Hollywood) and NoHo Copy (in North Hollywood).  

 

WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT? 

We get a lot of requests for photos and our schedule fills up quickly. In order to ensure that our time is respected, we require a deposit to hold your slot. If you need to reschedule there is a small fee. Details are on our “Appointments” page.  We do not offer refunds of any kind.

 

DO YOU SHOOT ON WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS? 

Most often I shoot on weekday mornings.  I shoot around my schedule and also when the light is best.  I  occasionally shoot on holidays or Saturdays, but there is a surcharge for weekend or holiday shoot. Inquire about that when you book. 

 

CAN I PAY BY CARD? 

You can pay by cash, check, venmo or card.  There is a small surcharge for credit or debit (3% of total package price)
